If you enjoy a beer every so often, keep your money at home if you are going to do your consuming in a casino. I am serious. Empty your pocketbook, your money belt, and keep all money, credit cards and chequebooks out of the casino. Only take only the money you intend to use on beverages, tips and only the pocket change you anticipate to squander and keep the remainder behind.
Pessimistic? Not by any means. Just realistic. You might experience a success following a boozy evening out with your comrades and be blessed sufficiently to hook a marathon toss at a smokin craps game. Hang on to that story considering that it is as short-lived as it gets if you continuously drink and gamble. The two simply do not go well together.
