First to clarify why I write this essay. I have been betting on the internet or at land-based betting houses for many years. I have discovered, the dependency can grab a hold of you and you will not even notice it until you are broke. Especially if you’re on a winning run. I’ve gone through countless thousands of dollars in a very tiny amount of time and to this day on occasion, I’ll go too far. It appears you are just having fun until you start to pay attention to your defeats and the guilt settles in, and then you keep telling yourself "I can get it back" repeatedly. It does not works. Then you feel sick in your gut and the more you try the faster you are deprived.
When you see that you’re up, STAY on the UP! When you begin to lose, do not say to yourself, "well perhaps one more" and again and again, trust me, this logic RARELY ever functions. Say you’re playing on slots, have a bankroll put aside prior to beginning your play. Don’t go over that limit, no matter how tempting. If you actually win, put that in a different cup. Don’t use your successes no matter what. As soon as you have gone through your primary set limit, bail out. Leave, whether it’s on the net or at a land-based betting house, do not stay around. Always keep in mind, there is going to be a different day, a different time.
Keep in mind, gambling is supposed to be exciting not backbreaking, nauseating work! If you are not having fun yourself, you do not belong there. If youcan not afford the loss, don’t even begin.
